Meet The Fashion Tourist

It has been four years since I left my home and embarked on a totally random and somewhat uninformed adventure to the other side of the planet.

When I left I was 18 years old and really had no idea just how big the world was. As you can imagine, reality struck pretty quick.  I soon learned that according to the vast majority of the world Canada consists of ice, polar bears, hunting and Toronto – my brain processed this and concluded that North America officially doesn’t matter much once you leave it behind. Yes, this was ignorant and irrational, but my 18 year old self was loving every minute of it. The fact that my entire existence on one side of the planet could be totally non-existent on the other was oddly refreshing. As much as this was totally dramatic, that’s how I saw it therefore that’s how it was – ugh teenagers.

Now at the age of 22, I have a somewhat more balanced concept of east and west. Although I still have a long way to go in experiencing the world, I have acknowledged the fact that what I know is nothing and I believe this is a step in the right direction. If you check back with me in another four years, I will probably have a completely new concept of life. But for now, I’ll leave it at that.

I am currently a business student and will soon graduate with a Bba and a major in Marketing. Although technically school should consume all my time, I can’t help but obsess over my passion for constantly finding new ways to adorn my body with epic pieces of clothing; hence the founding of this blog.

A Piece of Elise is a creative outlet in which I will channel all my fashion obsessed energy into something productive. Here you will find all the things that inspire me in hopes that they will inspire you too. It is a wonderful feeling to have finally worked up the courage to share with the world what interests me most: fashion, in the city I love most: Bangkok.

This blog is dedicated to all the things my parents have taught me, my friends have shown me and that Bangkok has thrown at me.
