El Diplomatico (The Ugly Diplomat), is a B&B experience set in the Andalusian countryside in a restored farmhouse. It is the epitome of relaxation where you can while away the hours by the pool or in the garden drinking in the magnificent view of the countryside.
If that isn’t enough, it’s a short walk or bike ride into the nearby white village where there are Spanish sights and cuisine to be enjoyed. Hiking in Los Alcornocales Natural Park near San Pablo de Buceite is also a popular past time. The cities of Tarifa and Ronda are close and are must-do’s on most people’s lists while in the area.

Each unit has a private patio and is decorated in a theme that reflects the owner’s different postings during their careers as Canadian diplomats. Thailand, Sri Lanka, The Philippines, Vietnam mixed with Spanish tile and the occasional touches of their homeland, Canada. Breakfast is amazing with local cheeses, fruit from the farm and a table full of delicious Spanish and Canadian food.
